Sculpture and performance featured at Chashama Gallery (2023), presented in dialogue with the essay “When Microbes Meet: Decay and Microbial Spirituality in the Post-Human Art Market,” as part of a group publication in the Journal of Anthropology and Consciousness.
The future of art is dirt and decomposing matter—a deconstructed intestinal sea of microorganisms, dispersed into the soil to which they returned after the extinction of their complex host. The genetic information they once exchanged with each other and their vessel lingers now only as a faint memory, perhaps a feeling of sadness or longing, as they digest the cherished artifacts left behind by their human predecessors.
